Continuing Education College (CEC) is mandated by ECNU to be responsible for adult schooling at the tertiary level, in-service training of teachers and general training of the public. Over the past few years, CEC has been striving to upgrade its service and management and become a learning college. Through unremitting efforts to widen the channels for running education, build more excellent curriculums and upgrade the managerial performance, CEC has been exploring opportunities for the new development of continuing education in general colleges and universities. And CEC has made creditable achievements in the in-service training for trainers of the National New Curricula and high-level teachers across the country. The new established curriculum that training of the qualified people for conferences and exhibitions has become a famous brand among the trade. 3700 adults were enrolled in academic studies in 2007, with a total enrollment of 11136 in CEC. The evening studies of CEC offer 6 undergraduate degree programs, 16 college diploma programs and 34 from-college-diploma-up-to-undergraduate degree programs. the higher-education-through-self-study-exam program of CEC administers examinations in 12 specialties and 1 certificate of advanced studies.There were 26895 people who entered for the examinations. The “diploma plus certificate ”program initated by CEC is continuing to give play to its advantage in practice.
